Dance your heart out! Tiler Peck, Prima Ballerina at the New York City Ballet, chats about the passion, dedication, and resilience that it takes to become a professional ballerina. She talks about how she's able to get through her long weeks (you will NOT believe the schedule of a ballerina!), and how she rests and recovers. Tiler dives into the debilitating neck injury that almost ended her dancing career, and how she made a recovery that 6 doctors told her she'd never make. Robin and Tiler discuss finding purpose in life outside of your career, how to prioritize your mental wellbeing, and why you should always bet on yourself. Get a dancer's mindset after listening to this one!

Tiler Peck:

Regarded as a “dance luminary” (The Washington Post), “pure joy in toe shoes” (The Los Angeles Times) and “the ballerina who can stop time (and re-start it too)” (The New York Times), Tiler Peck is widely recognized as one of the top American Ballerinas of our time. A Principal Dancer with the New York City Ballet, an actress, choreographer, author and designer, Tiler continues to evolve as an artist and add to her extensive repertoire.  She added the title of curator when she launched and starred in the Los Angeles Music Center’s presentation of BalletNOW, a part of the Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center program.  Tiler was the subject of the Hulu feature documentary, Ballet Now from Paul Allen’s Vulcan Productions with executive producer, Elisabeth Moss and director, Steven Cantor. She also had the honor of choreographing the box office smash action movie, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.

Tiler most recently starred in CLI Studios’ A New Stage and the World Premiere of William Forsythe’s The Barre Project (Blakeworks II), both of which she served as Executive Producer on.  She appeared in Season 7 of Ray Donovan opposite of Liev Shreiber and the Netflix series Tiny Pretty Things.  As a guest star, she was the first ballerina ever to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she guested on Dancing with The Stars for three seasons, the Bravo TV show Rocco’s Dinner Party and on Julie Andrews’ Netflix series, Julie's Greenroom. She also starred in the film Ballet 422.

With a passion and keen eye for fashion, Tiler is the designer of Tiler Peck Designs for Body Wrappers, a studio to streetwear clothing line that includes bodysuits, dresses, leggings, shorts, skirts, rompers and bra tops in addition to leotards and tutus. Tiler is also the designer of the upcoming capsule collection, Tiler Peck X STATESIDE, in collaboration with the popular Los Angeles-based sportswear company, Stateside. Her first children’s book was published on May 5, 2020 from Simon & Schuster called Katarina Ballerina. With the universal language of dance as a backdrop, the title character, Katarina, learns that with hard work and determination everything is possible and the qualities that make us different can often be our biggest strengths. Her second book in the Katarina Ballerina children’s series, Katarina Ballerina & The Victory Dance, continues the adventures of Katarina as she helps a fellow ballet dancer Ricky follow his dreams! The book was released in September and can be found at all major retailers.
